To suppress free speech in the name of protecting women is dangerous and wrong. -- Betty Friedan

Dear Feminists for Free Expression:

As a lifelong feminist, I've always been a particularly strong advocate of women's sexual freedom.  And I have always wanted to see more adult entertainment produced for a female audience.

That's why I was thrilled to learn a few months ago about Playgirl TV, the first cable channel directed toward women.  And after visiting the channel's website, I was anxious to learn when the station would be available in my area.

After writing my local cable company, however, I was told it had no current plans to carry Playgirl TV -- despite the fact that this company offers many adult stations geared toward men.  And after speaking with Playgirl TV executives, I believe that the same is true of many cable companies throughout the country.  Even today, they are reluctant to offer or promote adult entertainment from a women's perspective.

I want the same access to adult entertainment that men have enjoyed for years; and I know many friends who want the same.  As such, I have volunteered to lead a Playgirl TV ambassador program that calls upon women across the country to promote and request the channel in their local media markets.

I am not on the Playgirl payroll, and have not taken this position for professional advancement.  I am a longtime Playgirl reader who believes that it is the only publication that addresses the sexual independence and education of women.

First, I would like to invite Feminists for Free Expression members to learn more about my ambassador effort.  And I was wondering if it would be possible to provide more information for a FFE news item.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give, and thank you also for your organization and everything it does.

Thank you,
Megan Hussey
